Theme: Fire & Ice

The idea behind this gallery was to contrast the differences between hot and cold and also to connect the similarities. Contrast is achieved through the temperature changes of the color of the photos. The photos are also connected through the speckled dot pattern produced by sparks, stars, snowflakes and bubbles. There are also a lot of sharp lines with unique patterns that add complexity to each image. Guidelines that were followed were rather abstract, each photo had to represent an extremity of temperature in whatever way, shape or form that it may consist of. Also, each image had to feature warm colors or cool colors for hot or cold respectively.
"Blue Rocks" is a photo that captures the detail and complexity of simple chunks of ice as a foreign substance veins its way across its surface.
"Fire Blizzard" is a peak inside a moment of intense heat where sparks are released every which way cloaking the surrounding coals in a dance of fire.
"Chilly Night" is a rather symbolic image of a clear blue night sky with brightly shinning stars and ominous black sharp branches that meet in perfect balance with each other.
"Lava Tsunami" is a unique capture of a wave of concentrated sparks amidst a sea of fiery coals, resembling the fury and anger of an ocean.
"Ember Cave" is shaped like an opening or tear in the earth that reveals the fire that lies inside. Rain-like sparks add to the depth and detail.
"Frosty Sky" is an abstract image that explores the shapes, color and texture that may or may not be ice, in a way that is visually appealing.
Much like a magic trick, revealing the methods and process of the photo-shoots would put a damper on the experience. Therefor I will leave you with the idea that each one of these six photos were carefully planned and produced with high-budget effects.
